Being a sound engineer is quite fun

I have to say I love my career, university can be a terrible and stressful place, classes and tests can be quite difficult and too much diverse, but in the end when you love your career it gets easier. 

My name is Alonso Arancibia and I am in my third year of sound engineering, we all know this is not the easiest career, and sound engineer are not the wealthiest people, but working as a sound engineer is quite fun. I studied one year of civil engineering at PUC and I didn't like it, I had no passion for the career, most of the people were in a different page that the one I was, they probably weren't on the same book that I was! So I decided to change into a career that it seemed to reflect into what I wanted to be in the near future. That's why I chose this path.

But what do I do as a sound engineer? that's where the fun begins, it's a career that lets me do many things that I like, being a musical producer for example, that's my favorite part, you are a genius behind a computer and in the studio, you help musicians on their songs, you get to be creative and have an unique style, musicians want to work with you and you get to work with artists that you admire, and that's priceless! but they pay it of course. On the other hand I get to do research and to teach, which is one of my favorite things to do, I love teaching, my mom does research and teaches too! and she's a very good teacher so that helps a lot. And there are many other things that I can do, like work for theater and movies, live sound, even create new instruments! (that's the research part that I love the most). 

In the end, if I'm good enough and I'm passionate about it, I can do whatever I want, do you like your profession? do you think you could make it better?
